Good Value For Money More Important Than Low Price –
and Organic Is Back
For the fourth time since 2021, Südzucker has conducted its “Consumer Study – Processed Foods & Drinks”. What has changed in the last 12 months since March 2023? One important point, but of course not the only one, is that inflation in Europe has dropped.
This does not mean that consumers no longer pay attention to price, but price is not the only criterion for whether a product is bought or not. Consumers are looking more in the direction of what is the best I can get for my money – good value for money.
In the latest Südzucker Sweet Trends Report (conducted March 2024), you can read about the added values consumers are looking for to get the best product solution for their money. Around 6,000 consumers were surveyed in France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, the UK and, for the first time, Italy.
The participants are frequent consumers in categories such as sweet biscuits/baked goods, chocolates, dairy products & vegan alternatives, cereals and/or soft drinks.
